TechSolutions Customized Reclaimers

Overview

TechSolutions reclaimers are designed to reclaim bulk materials from stockpiles at mines, ports, steel plants, power stations, etc. in a quick, efficient and orderly way. They are available in several main types, including bucket wheel, scraper and drum-type reclaimers, and in many configurations and sizes, with capacities from 250 to 18,500 tons per hour and more, and boom length / rail span can up to 70 meters. The design of reclaimers depends on factors such as the size and shape of the stockpile, the type of material to be reclaimed, the required reclaiming rate and the need for blending or homogenization.

TechSolutions Reclaimers are used to quickly and efficiently reclaim bulk materials in the stockyard then put the bulk material onto belt conveyor system. Bulk Materials are reclaimed in the stockyard then put onto boom belt conveyor system through chute and hopper.

Types / Product Range

TechSolutions can design, supply, install & commission different types of reclaimers according to client’s technical requirements, whether the reclaimers are stationary or traveling, rail-mounted or rubber-tyred, bucket wheel type or scraper type or drum type, fixed boom, luffable boom or slewable & luffable boom reclaimers.

  • Boom Bucket Wheel Reclaimer
TechSolutions boom-type bucket wheel reclaimers are designed to reclaim large volumes of bulk material from stockpiles at mines, ports, power plants, steelworks etc. They can be mounted on rails or tracks, with exact design, boom length and control system tailored to suit the stockpile configuration, the type of material to be handled and the needs of the customer. Boom length can range from 10 to over 60 meters and the exact configuration, as well as the operational features, will always depend on the application. The following two configurations can be provided:
    – Pylon-type Boom Bucket Wheel Reclaimer
    – Rocker-type Boom Bucket Wheel Reclaimer
  • Bridge Bucket Wheel Reclaimer
TechSolutions bridge-type bucket wheel reclaimer designs are for a more efficient blending purpose, this can be even more improved by means of a dual bucket wheel design.
  • Portal Scraper Reclaimer
Full portal scraper reclaimers usually reclaim the material from the surface of the stockpile in a longitudinal direction from one side of the pile only, down the full length of the pile. They can be a good solution for small to medium capacities and where homogenization is not a priority.
  • Bridge Scraper Reclaimer
Bridge scraper reclaimer that operate in a transverse, slice-wise manner are clearly superior to those that reclaim the material longitudinally, because they cut across the pile layers and blend the material effectively during reclamation.
  • Drum Reclaimer
The drum-type reclaimer is the alternative to bridge-type single and double bucket wheel reclaimer. It comprises a long rotating drum fitted with a large number of reclaiming buckets arranged radially along its length, into which material is fed uniformly by the harrow. The drum reclaimer is a good solution if good homogenizing characteristics are of paramount importance.

Main Components of Reclaimer

Reclaimer typically consists of several key components that work together to facilitate the efficient handling and reclaiming of bulk materials. The main components of a reclaimer include:

Reclaiming mechanism of reclaimer can be bucket-wheel mechanism, scraper mechanism or rotating drum. In bucket-wheel reclaimers, a rotating wheel with buckets is used to scoop and lift materials; Scraper reclaimers employ a horizontal scraper chain to reclaim cohesive materials; Drum reclaimers feature a rotating drum that lifts and transfers materials during the reclaiming process.

The structural frame provides the necessary support and stability for the entire reclaimer structure.

Boom and counterweight system is the key components of boom type bucket wheel reclaimer. The boom is a crucial component that extends and retracts, reaching out to reclaim materials from different stockpiles; A counterweight system is often employed to balance the weight distribution, enhancing the stability of the reclaimer during operation.

Luffing and Slewing Mechanism is the key components of boom type bucket wheel reclaimer. The luffing mechanism adjusts the height of the reclaimer’s boom, while the slewing mechanism allows it to rotate, enabling flexible material handling.

Reclaimers are often mounted on crawler tracks or wheels, allowing them to travel efficiently across storage yards or industrial sites.

A conveyor system is integral for the transportation of materials within the reclaimer, ensuring a smooth workflow.

Reclaimers are designed with accessible points for maintenance, allowing technicians to perform regular checks and repairs.

The operator’s cabin and control room is where the reclaimer operator manages and monitors the reclaiming process. Modern reclaimers are equipped with advanced control systems that automate the material handling process, these systems ensure precision and efficiency.

Technical Data

The detail capacity and other technical data of reclaimers can be customized by clients, the capacities of our reclaimers can be from 200 t/h to 18,500 t/h and rail gauge / span can range from 20 to 70 meters.

Technical Specification Value
Reclaiming capacity up to 18,500 t/h
Boom length 20 – 65 m
Belt width 600 – 2400 mm
Rail gauge / Span 6 – 70 m

Note: Above data can be adapted and may vary according to client’s requirement.

Similar to all TechSolutions designed bulk material handling equipment, the operation modes of reclaimers can be local control & operation, manual operation, manual remote control, semi-automatic unmanned operation and full-automatic smart unmanned operation.

FAQs

1. What is A Reclaimer?
Reclaimer is an specialized efficient machine designed for the efficient reclaiming of handling and reclaiming of large quantities of bulk materials with particle size less than 300mm continuously in storage yards of various sectors, these materials can include coal, minerals, ores, aggregates, and various other types of bulk commodities. The reclaimer plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing material storage and retrieval processes in industries such as mining, ports & terminals, coal-fired power plant, steel plants, coking plants, and metal manufacturing, etc., contributing to increased productivity, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.

2. How does A Reclaimer Work?
Reclaimer works by efficiently handling and reclaiming bulk materials in industrial settings. The specific mechanism may vary based on the type of reclaimer, but the fundamental process involves the extraction of materials from a storage area, transfer to the desired locations.
bulk material reclaiming: The reclaimer is positioned near a stockpile of bulk materials, such as coal, ore, or other industrial products, the specialized mechanism (e.g., bucket-wheel, scraper chain, or rotating drum) reaches into the stockpile to extract the materials.
bulk material transfering: Once reclaimed, the materials are transported within the reclaimer through conveyor systems, these systems facilitate the continuous flow of materials, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

3. Applications of Reclaimer
Reclaimers have diverse applications across various industries due to their efficiency in handling and redistributing bulk materials, from Mining, Power, Steel and Manufacturing, Ports and Terminals, Cement plant, Chemical processing plants, Pulp and Paper, etc.
